Bellia's Stride Rite is a fourth generation family of expert shoe fitters. Grandpa Salvatore Bellia started a family shoe store in Sicily where he employed local shoemakers that produced most of the shoes they sold. When his son, Dominick moved to the United States in 1967, he did what he knew best and started a shoe store and repair shop in Union NJ. When his son, Sal graduated from Rutgers University in 1981, he joined the family business. Michelle, Sal's oldest daughter is also a part time shoe fitter while also attending Rutgers. Today, they are still serving their loyal customers in the Freehold Raceway Mall the old fashioned way. One satisfied customer at a time.
